Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. I suggest you go right ahead and look at the work because the rest of my speech is of little consequence unless you like the paintings. (Double click on an image to enlarge it and then back on the gallery button to return to the paintings.)

My approach is simple, I paint what people want to remember. That might turn out to be the face of a revered president of a big company or a grandchild’s priceless pout or the beloved dog on its last legs. I do more portrait work than anything else but I have also been asked to paint the country house soon to be sold and a favorite Paris street corner for a visiting American and a  California landscape for her French counterpart. Clients tell me that their paintings are becoming more precious to them as the realities they represent recede – the country house has a new owner, the president has retired and the darling baby has turned into a troublesome adolescent.  I am a souvenir painter in the French sense of the word - a painter  for posterity.

Unless the client is able to sit for me, I work from photographs. Paris is my home though I travel a great deal within France and the U.S. (New York, Washington, D.C., Tampa, Los Angeles and San Francisco). If a client is interested in commissioning a painting and lives in France or in close proximity to one of these U.S. cities, a meeting might be arranged. Existing photos and the internet are usually  adequate where a meeting is not possible.

Paintings are in oil and range in price from $1,000 to $7,500 depending on the subject, format and complexity.  Clients receive a firm quote once the project has been fully defined. I ask for 50% at the start and the balance on delivery.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss any ideas you may have for a painting. Thanks again for your visit.
